Missing Child Found in Alabama

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: The Amber Alert has been cancelled by the Alabama Bureau of Investigations. No further information is available at this time.

Tonight, the search for a missing child spans two counties. Authorities are now searching for a missing three month old child from Alabama. And there are ties to Walton County that may lead to solving a piece of a kidnapping puzzle.

A helicopter helps scour a remote Alabama area for precious cargo.

"We've tried to pull out everything we can to return this child to its mother."

Three-month-old Daniel Jackson Lowe was reported missing Sunday along with his two siblings, who are one and three years old. The Amber Alert came out of Alabama, when authorities believe all three were taken by unknown suspects in an assault and carjacking. Then early Monday morning an interesting twist brought two children into safety.

Part of the mysterious timeline stops in Black, AL on Clark Road, where authorities say a woman called early this morning to report she'd found two children in the area. Those living in the area say authorities have been scouring by land and air to look for the third missing child.

"We received a call at about two o'clock this morning by a woman who discovered two children near her home in Alabama. She told us that she was bringing the children to a local hospital in Walton County," said Walton County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Mike Morrison.

Walton County deputies made contact with the woman at Healthmark Hospital in DeFuniak Springs. Doctors said the one and three year old were in good health. According to an incident report provided by Walton County, investigators questioned the children as to the whereabouts of their missing brother. One sibling replied 'he's gone.' when investigators asked where the child went, the sibling replied 'he went bye bye'.

Daniel Jackson Lowe was last seen at his home on Sunday in Ariton, AL.

WDHN-TV is reporting authorities have recovered the stolen vehicle in Geneva County, AL. But the infant has not been found. Police are also questioning a person of interest.
