It is bittersweet that I now must say goodbye to News 13 and the Panhandle. I am very excited about moving to Nashville, TN and getting married to a wonderful man in early 2009! However, it is with sadness that I have to leave behind all the new friends I have made over the past two and a half years. I have thoroughly enjoyed reporting on various topics like education and taxes, as well as co-anchoring News 13 This Morning. It’s not really normal to wake up and go to work in the wee hours of the morning, but the News 13 staff made it very enjoyable! I also want to thank everyone for tuning in every morning and making us your #1 rated newscast in the market.

I have also enjoyed working with the dedicated staff and volunteers with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the March of Dimes. I can’t wait to see what wonderful things these groups keep adding to our community in the future. I encourage you all to volunteer and give back in some way.

I will be continuing my career in journalism in Nashville as a part time reporter and my fiancé and I will be getting married next year in New Orleans, where we both met five years ago.

Some trails we take are happy ones, while others turn out blue. I’m thankful that my time here was wonderful and thankful that I met each of you.
To quote the Happy Trails song from The Roy Rogers Show, ‘Happy trails to you, until we meet again, happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.’

Sincerely,
Deanna Lambert
