Alison Posey

Alison Posey joined the WMBB-TV news team as the Weekend Sports Anchor in October 2010. She was born in Tallahassee to FSU graduates, but raised in Gainesville, where she learned to cheer on both the Garnet and Gold and the Orange and Blue. Alison was an avid athlete, playing both basketball and softball in high school. She attended St. Johns River Community College on a softball scholarship, and after completing her Associate of Arts, transferred to the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications and a minor in Sport Management.

During her time at the University of Florida, Alison served as a sports anchor for WUFT-TV as well as a sports anchor on WRUF-AM850. Alison went to Oklahoma City in the summer of 2009 to cover the University of Florida's softball team in their quest for a WCWS title. She also played on the UF's Club Softball team, where she won a Club Softball World Series title in 2010. In addition to going to school full-time, Alison also worked for two years at the ABC affiliate in Gainesville at WCJB-TV20 in the sports department, shooting various high school and college sports and interviewing athletes and coaches. During her time at WCJB, she was on the sideline every home Gator game, and helped cover the 2008 National Championship Gator football team throughout the season.

In May of 2009, Alison interned at CNN Sports, where she learned how a cable television station works. She helped produce the sports segment on "Morning Express with Robin Meade" as well as "World Sport" on CNN International. Just prior to her graduation, Alison had the opportunity to call play-by-play for the Florida-LSU baseball game for ESPNU, something that she says was one of the most exciting opportunities of her life.

In her free time, Alison loves to watch and play any sport. She still plays slow-pitch softball, and loves spending time with family and friends—and can't wait to finally live by the beach. She is excited to learn about the athletes and rivalries in the Northwest Florida area, and can't wait to meet everyone! Feel free to send her an e-mail or story idea at .
