Jason Hackett joined WMBB in March of 20011 as a general assignment reporter. He graduated from the University of Florida in December 2010 with a degree in Telecommunication and a minor in communication studies.

While at the University of Florida, Jason worked with WUFT-FM and WUFT-TV, the on campus NPR and PBS affiliates. At WUFT-FM, he reported and produced for the 1 hour "Frontpage" radio show. At WUFT-TV, he worked as a reporter and main 6:30 anchor.

Volunteering for both stations gave him the opportunity to cover a wide variety of stories, from covering the Gator Football team in Tennessee as they took on their bitter rivals, to the controversial Pastor Terry Jones, who's church in Gainesville attracted world wide attention

Jason was born and raised in Miami...and even though he's a long way from home, he's enjoying his new home here in Panama City. When he's not out looking for stories, he loves to listen to and discover new music, go to the gym, check out the beach, and watch a movie or two. If you have any ideas for a story, don't hesitate to email him.
