Elissia Wilson joined WMBB in April 2011 as a meteorologist. Before coming to Panama City, she worked at KFSM in Fort Smith; The Weather Channel Radio Network in Atlanta; and WRBL in Columbus, GA.
Although she's a Georgia native, she already feels like Florida is her home away from home. While growing up in Georgia, Elissia says her fascination with meteorology can be traced back to a couple of major weather events that impacted Georgia and the east coast: the blizzard of '93 and the landfall of Hurricane Opal in 1995.
She holds a B.S. in Broadcasting with a minor in Geography from Georgia Southern University and a Master's degree in Geoscience with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and AMS seal holder.
In her spare time, Elissia enjoys shopping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to forecasting, storm tracking, and serving the public of northwest Florida. Her forecast can be seen every weekend at 6:00pm and 11:00 on Saturday and 5:30pm and 10:00pm on Sunday.
