The sound of gun shots rang out in Panama City Beach this evening, but don't be alarmed, it was just the turkey shoot.
The Fleet Reserve Association, or the FRA holds a turkey shoot once a week, on Friday and Saturday night. Participants pay a $3 fee per round, and can either shoot their own shotgun or use one provided.
The FRA uses the money to donate to organizations such as the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.
The closest shoot to the bullseye will win the contestant a prize such as a frozen turkey. The event is open to the public, and kids as old as 12 may participate with an adult present.
The Association will continue thru November, this is the 35th year for turkey shoots.
