Addie Hampton - WMBB News 13 - The Panhandle's News Leader

Addie Hampton

Addie was honored to join News 13 as a general assignment reporter in January 2012. Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Addie grew up telling stories through her love of music and theater. She credits her involvement in the Arts as giving her an "unorthodox foundation" into the field of broadcast news.

Addie graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in December 2011 with a degree in Digital and Broadcast News. While in school, she anchored, reported and produced for "Newsource 15" on WNEG, which, at that time, was the only television news outlet for 26 counties in Northeast Georgia. Addie was the lead reporter for a weeklong story that made national headlines involving the manhunt of a cop killer and his eventual surrender on live television.

Addie served as the Director of Communications for UGA's Student Government Association. She was honored as a Richard B. Russell Leadership Fellow, a member of The National Society for Collegiate Scholars, and The Sigma Alpha Pi Society for Leadership and Service.

Addie interned at Atlanta's news leader, WSB-TV, where she helped report a wide range of stories -even going undercover to catch a local tobacco store selling illegal drugs in the act!

Addie is thrilled to be reporting on the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches" and she wants to hear from you! If you've got story ideas, please drop her a line via email, message her on Facebook or send her a tweet! When she's not seeking out the latest breaking news, you can find Addie by the water, soaking up the sun with a book in hand, or cheering on her beloved Georgia Bulldogs!
