It's coming down to the wire for presidential hopefuls looking to clinch the Republican nomination. Each candidate is making their case to win over Florida voters and on Saturday, one of the front runners will be making a stop in Panama City.
Crews have worked day and night to make sure that everything is ready for the former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney.
"We're proud and honored to sponsor this rally for Governor Romney and naturally we wish him the best." said Brian D'Isernia, President of Eastern Shipbuilding. The Eastern Shipbuilding yard is home to Romney's next stop on the campaign trail. His main focus will be on jobs.
"I'm strongly convinced that we need a conservative and principled business man in the white house." D'Isernia said.
With the shipyard as his background, Governor Romney will address hundreds of supporters and he'll even have the backing of several key politicians.
"He's a good man; he's been married for 42 years---6 more than me. He's just a great guy and he'll be a phenomenal president and I'm honored to be on his team." Allan Bense, Former Florida House Speaker says.
Governor Romney pulled ahead in the polls after Thursday's debate. He now has a nine point lead over House Speaker Newt Ginrich who is also working hard to win on Tuesday.
"I think it's a key state. You know Florida is just a melting pot. We've got a picture of folks from all over the world that come to Florida and it's not dominated by one religious group or whatever group, it's a melting pot." Bense added.
Making the stops in the panhandle more meaningful. "It's going to be great. I'm so happy that the governor chose to come to Panama City during the campaign. As you know this is busy time for him, for all of the republican candidates."
Governor Romney's visit starts at 1:45 PM on Saturday, following his stop with veterans in Pensacola. Be sure to join us for our live team coverage from the rally starting at 1:30 PM, only one WMBB News 13.
