UPDATE: Accused Arsonist Now Charged With Attempted Murder

UPDATE:  Criminal charges continue to pile up against a Bay County man accused of setting fire to a mobile home in Parker.

Walter Lee Bowden, 55, is now accused of attempted felony murder.  That's on top of aggravated battery, domestic violence, false imprisonment and arson charges.

Bowden is accused of setting fire to a mobile home on Pratt Avenue on February 9.  He and a woman who lived in the mobile home were taken to a local hospital after firefighters responded to the blaze.

Bowden is in the Bay County jail awaiting his appearance in court on the new attempted murder charge.

The Parker Police Department, with the assistance of the State Fire Marshall's Office, is conducting an investigation involving a structure fire which burned a mobile home on Thursday night.  Parker Police Department was dispatched to this fire on Thursday night.  While Parker Police and Fire crews were in route to that fire Parker Police were also dispatched to a nearby address to investigate a domestic violence incident.  Police did learn that both calls were related. The Pratt Ave mobile home was completely destroyed. 

During the following investigation police found that Walter Lee Bowden, 56 years of age, was responsible for both incidents.  Bowden was transported to Bay Medical Center for his injuries.  Bowden will be charged with Arson and Aggravated Battery upon his release for the hospital.  This investigation is continuing.

A fire in Parker sends one man to the hospital.

Parker firefighters, police officers, and Bay Medical EMS responded to the home on the corner of Pitts Avenue and Jermaine Street at the Bay Oaks Mobile Home Park.

Authorities say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

A man, believed to be a resident of the home, was transported to the hospital. No word on the extent of his injuries.

Investigators are looking into what exactly caused that fire.
