Governor names Bay County building The Bay County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce Gov. Rick Scott's appointment of Rex "Rick" E. Holmes to the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (FBCAIB).
"This is just such an honor," Holmes said. "I look at this as yet another opportunity to serve the public."
Holmes, 53, is the chief building inspector for Bay County Builders' Services, and has worked for county government for 18 years.
The nine-member FBCAIB oversees licensing and regulation of building code administrators and inspectors. The board considers applications for licensure, reviews disciplinary cases and conducts hearings related to licensure and discipline. It also engages in rulemaking to implement the provisions set forth in its statutes, according to the Florida Department of Professional and Business Regulation.
"I hope this new role will give me the opportunity to help make the entire building process more efficient, and I look forward to meeting people in the industry from throughout the state," Holmes said.
The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
