Parker, Fla. -

Police in Parker are charging a man for setting his mobile home on fire. According to police, the 56-year old got into a dispute with his girlfriend before starting the blaze.

During the investigation, Parker Police discovered that the homeowner set fire to his trailer and then slit his own throat following a domestic dispute. That's when neighbors rushed in and called police.

"We called 911 not only because of the disturbance there, when he was having a fight, but also because there was a fire." John and Teresa Fleming examined their home for damages; a day after their neighbor's home at the Bay Oaks Mobile Home Park was set ablaze. 56-year-old Walter Lee Bowden now faces several charges.

"He went in the house and I could see his body coming back out and he threw, I don't know what he threw in there but all of a sudden it caught on fire, the whole thing." Teresa says. "I saw him kicking her, the woman that's supposed to be his girlfriend."

That's when she stepped in and called 911. Parker Police and fire arrived on scene around 8:30 PM Thursday evening. Police found Bowden lying on the floor, next to his fully engulfed trailer.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire, but residents were very concerned for their own safety.

Police say Bowden was transported to Bay Medical Center for his injuries. There's no word on the condition of Bowden's girlfriend.

Bowden faces multiple felony charges, aggravated battery-domestic violence, false imprisonment, battery domestic violence and arson. Bowden will be arrested and charged upon his release from the hospital.
