BCSO Wilderness Camp Applications Now Being Accepted

The Bay County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications to the 2012 BCSO Wilderness Camp.

The Wilderness Camp is held for Bay County boys ages twelve through seventeen. Staffed by School Resource Deputies, civilian counselors, and trained medical personnel, the Wilderness Camp teaches positive decision making, peer mediation, and proper communication skills.

Some of the activities enjoyed by participants are swimming, archery safety and competition, gun safety and competition, survival skills, and fishing. There will be field trips to Shell Island and the Pensacola Naval Air Museum.

The Wilderness Camp will be held twice this summer. The first session is June 18 through June 22 and the second session will be held from June 25 through June 29, 2012.

Applications to the Wilderness Camp can be found online at www.bayso.org. Click on "Home" and on "Wilderness Camp 2012". Applications can also be picked up at the main office of the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 3421 North Highway 77 in Panama City. Please return to the Bay County Sheriff's Office when completed.
