A class from Cedar Grove Elementary Sent a special friend across the world for a very unique lesson.
Flat Stanley is a character from a book that students ship across the country to learn about different places away from home. The people who host Flat Stanley take pictures of him in exciting places and send it back to the student.
"We sent him off to find out about other countries, to see pictures of what it was going to be like and just to have fun and send him off," says Brandy Woods, a students from Cedar Grove Elementary.
One class from Cedar Grove Elementary sent their Flat Stanley to an entirely different continent, all the way to South Africa.
Tuesday, the 3rd and 4th graders from Ms. Frederick's class were able Skype with Flat Stanley's host family in South Africa, getting a live lesson from eight thousand miles away.
Students prepared questions based on Flat Stanley's experience in the country to learn more about the food, language, and lifestyle.
