Community Health Needs Assessment Scheduled

Posted: Updated:

You have the opportunity to impact the state of health in your hometown.  The Community Health Task Force, in conjunction with the Bay County Health Department, is conducting the 2012 Community Health Needs Assessment, which will be the basis for the Community Health Improvement Plan.  This formal plan will be a first for Bay County, as the valuable information collected will allow our health partners to address the priority concerns of our citizens. These concerns are not just related to physical health, but also to quality of life issues in our area.

Initially, we are asking for input from the citizens of Bay County in the form of either an online survey or paper survey.  You can access the on-line survey from several locations:

The online survey will be available today through Friday, March 2, 2012.

Volunteers will administer a hard copy (or paper) survey at various supermarkets, community locations, and retail stores throughout Bay County on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  Students and faculty from Gulf Coast State College Health Sciences programs and members of the Community Health Needs Assessment Committee have volunteered to assist with the surveys.  The surveys are identical and brief so only a small amount of time will be required to complete them.

Let us know how you feel about the quality and accessibility of healthcare in Bay County!  Your input is important and will make a difference.  For more information, contact the Bay County Health Department at 850-872-4455, ext. 1344, or visit the website at www.baycountyhealth.org .
