Upcoming railroad crossing repairs will cause temporary closures on State Road (S.R.) 22 between School Avenue and Kilbourn Avenue and on East Avenue between U.S. 231 and Game Farm Road in Panama City. To minimize impacts to the motoring public, S.R. 22 will close at 6 p.m. Friday, March 2 and reopen 12 p.m. Saturday, March 3. Track work on East Avenue will begin Saturday, March 3 at 3 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4.
A detour will be in place using the following routes. S.R. 22 drivers will use U.S. 98, Cherry Street and Bob Little Road as a detour. East Avenue motorists will use Transmitter Road, U.S. 231 and Game Farm Road.
Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, and to use caution, especially at night when driving in work zones.
