The 2012 Bay District Schools Teacher of the Year has been selected.
Cherry Street Elementary Art Teacher Susan Wise was announced Teacher of the Year at a dinner Tuesday night held at the Wyndham Bay Point Resort. Wise was among five finalists chosen for the award. It was her third time being nominated as Teacher of the Year from her school. She will go on to represent the Bay District schools for the Florida Teacher of the Year award later this year in Orlando.
"I'm honored to serve along each side of each one of you as we impart on this never ending quest to impart not only content to the nations youth, but also understanding stability and the power that comes in acquiring both...thank you," Wise said as she accepted her award.
As the winner, Wise got a number of cash prizes as well as a cruise vacation for two.
