    Dr. Timothy Nichols from Emerald Coast Urgent Care says clinics have seen a significant rise in pink eye recently. Dr. Nichols explains that symptoms include: a red eye a gritty sensation in the
    Red and watery eyes should not be ignored. It could signal an infection of the eye.  Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, is going around this week.

Bay County, Fla. -

Dr. Timothy Nichols from Emerald Coast Urgent Care says bronchitis is now going around.  He says bronchitis usually begins as an upper respiratory infection and then progresses.

Symptoms include:

  • productive cough
  • chest congestion
  • fever
  • wheezing
  • shortness of breath

Dr. Nichols warns that shortness of breath is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention. 

Treatment includes:

  • medications for the fever and cough
  • antibiotics
  • medications to help with breathing
