Dr. Timothy Nichols from Emerald Coast Urgent Care says bronchitis is now going around. He says bronchitis usually begins as an upper respiratory infection and then progresses.
Symptoms include:
productive cough
chest congestion
fever
wheezing
shortness of breath
Dr. Nichols warns that shortness of breath is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention.
Treatment includes:
medications for the fever and cough
antibiotics
medications to help with breathing
If you are experiencing symptoms, Dr. Nichols says you should see a doctor to determine the best treatment.
