Panama City, Fla. -

16 graduates from the Panama City Marine Institute accept their diplomas and are recognized for their accomplishments at their year-end ceremony.

PCMI helps redirect and motivate at risk youth to become productive members of the community. On Tuesday, students stood before their peers to prove that anything is possible.

Several students fell back into school after dropping out years ago, but after overcoming several obstacles, these students earned their GED degrees. "I'd like to thank all of PCMI; although there's been times that we've had our differences, they've been there from the start." Elijah Segermeier says.

"I would like to thank my parents for pushing me so hard, because if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here today." Amanda Loyd added.

Several other students were awarded certificates for being role models among their peers. Each were assigned one of the values PCMI instills in their students.
