The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating an aggravated battery in Shalimar that led to a resident being slashed with a box cutter.

Deputies responded to a home on Country Club Road around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 9th. The 34-year-old victim says he was smoking on his front porch when he spotted three juveniles who appeared to be trying to break into his car. When he approached, one of them took out a box cutter and threatened him. The man says he hit the teen on the side of the head. The juvenile then cut him on the left and right arms with the box cutter. He was able to disarm the teen and all three of the juveniles then fled the scene, getting into a Dodge neon.

The aggravated battery suspect is described as a white male, between thirteen to nineteen years of age, 5'10" tall, with ear-length curly hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
