
Revitalizing downtown Panama City, that was the goal of a meeting Monday night. Business owners from downtown came out to discuss the future of the area. Currently there is a 40 percent vacancy rate and leaders are looking to fill those empty spaces. The Downtown Improvement Board invited Executive Director Marjorie Ferrer from the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority to speak.
Ferrer says Delray Beach's downtown area has thrived, and used the town as an example at tonight's meeting. She believes downtown Panama City has bright future.
"There are so many special gifts in this community if they just get it together and start working together and I hope they would because they have a great downtown.
After Ferrer presentation there was a question and answer with many business owners had the opportunity voice there concerns about the future of downtown.
