A man is charged with holding six children, at gun point. Thursday night, he is in the Bay County Jail being held without bond.
67- year old Jerry Lee Fulcher is facing multiple charges including false imprisonment, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Deputies say he was holding children at gun point at his house on Deer Point lake drive in Southport.
Authorities say the 6 minors, ranging in age from 4 to 16 years old, drove down Fulcher's dirt driveway hoping to turn their recreational vehicle around.
According to the incident report, he came out with a handgun and made the kids get out of the vehicle. Fulcher then pointed the gun at the 16 year old and told him what would happen if he pulled the trigger. @
Then deputies say he took the 16 year old into the house to call his mother to come get them.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office says this is not the proper way to get someone off your property.
"Certainly when it involves children, it's not the appropriate way to do it in the manner that Mr. Fulcher chose to do that. He's actually in serious trouble because of the way he handled it," says Ford.
Neighbors who live on the street fear situations like this could turn dangerous.
"Somebody's going to get hurt eventually. Obviously, pulling gun and nothing goods going to happen," says Kyser.
Fulcher will make first appearance Friday morning.
