Callaway commissioners are discussing the replacement of their City Manager.
Former City Manager, Judy Whitis resigned a couple of months ago, leaving the position open. At last night's council meeting the board addressed candidate qualifications such as educational background, experience, and whether or not the candidate should live inside city limits.
However the main item of concern was in regards to the starting salary of a new city manager. Callaway Mayor, Thomas Abbott said while salary is important, it should be negotiable.
Callaway commissioners directed their staff to make minor changes to the job description and advertise the position using professional job boards, city media and press releases.
