Bad news for Phillies Relief Pitcher David Herndon, who is a Mosley High School Alumni, as Herndon underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery Tuesday.
Herndon only pitched in five games for the Phillies this year before straining his Flexor Pronator Muscle at the end of April and hasn't been off the disabled list since. Now, Herndon will miss the rest of the 2012 season and part of the 2013 season. The usually recovery time for a Major League Pitcher after Tommy John surgery is just over a year.
