PCPD Investigating Vehicle Burglaries

The Panama City Police Department is currently investigating a number of recent burglaries to unlocked vehicles in the Venetian Villa and Candlewick subdivisions. In some cases valuables and electronics were taken.

Panama City Police detectives were able to locate some of the stolen property that was sold to individuals and area pawnshops. The investigation so far has identified over 20 separate victims. Detectives have arrested Kathelynn M. Wythe, 19 years of age, for two counts each of Dealing in Stolen Property and False Verification of Ownership while pawning property and one count each of Principal to Dealing in Stolen Property and False Verification of Ownership while pawning property.

Detectives have other suspects in custody at the time of this release. Detectives are working with the Bay County Sheriff's Office as some of the Burglaries occurred in their jurisdiction. These cases remain under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
