On a rough day, their ruff may make you feel better, so Take your Dog To Work Day may increase job satisfaction for many.

Leslie Brown, who owns Blue Heron Fine Gift in Panama City Beach takes her English Bulldog to work with her every day.

"If you feel stressed, all you have to do is look at that sweet little face and that all goes away," says Brown.

Friday is the 14th annual Take Your Dog to Work Day. The event, celebrated annually on June 22, is sponsored by Pet Sitters International to recognize the companionship with these furry friends and to encourage adoptions from the Humane Society and other rescue shelters.

Business owners here in the Panhandle say having their dogs in the workplace puts employees and customers in a good mood.

"He definitely diffuses stressful situations. He helps my husband and I relax while we're working," says Paige Wiselogel, the owner of Sterling Sun. Wiselogel bring her pup Jake to work every day. "We have to take him on a walk every now and then too, so it gets us out of the store."
