Port Panama City has held a close eye toward the water as tropical storm Debby looms off shore.
Port Panama City on average has thirty or more ships like this one come in and out of the port every month. Because of the storm the port has been closed to shipping, but it is still in full operation, the port not only receives ship but it also has trucks and rail cars coming and going. The one ship that was in port when it was closed has been secured with more mooring ropes to insure its safety as it rides out tropical storm Debbie.
Executive director Wayne Stubbs is confident that the port will not have any long term impact from Debbie.
