A long running debate surrounding a historic building comes to a close. Roberts Hall is a century old building that has been occupied by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows since 1912. The city has been requesting that the building's owners, The I.O.O.F, provide a sealed letter from an engineer declaring that the building safe for occupancy.
City Manager John Lynch announced tonight that the owners have satisfied the cities demand of an engineers approval, giving them permission to occupy the first floor of the building up to sixty people. City officials say any future renovations to Roberts Hall will require permits and will be overseen by a county inspector. The city has offered to wave any fees for permits.
