If you talk to any local fireman, they will probably tell you fire service is a brotherhood and when one of their own is injured, they do whatever they can to ease the burden
So, when a fellow South Walton Firefighter suffered a spinal injury in April, the brothers banded to help and haven't stopped since.
With a boot in hand, little Aiden Gorman seemed to be a champ at collecting dollars and change from passersby.
The secret to his success?
"Um, just a smile," Aiden said with a big grin.
Saturday, Aiden joined father, Jacob Gorman, and brothers from Panama City Beach and South Walton Fire to collect donations for Danny Margagliano.
"It's always important for us to go out and help any fireman that get's injured or has accidents like this. It always hits home to us," said Gorman.
On April 14th, 2012, a diving accident paralyzed Margagliano. According to friends, the devoted family man and avid surfer has made progress in the months since his accident while rehabbing in Atlanta.
"He's the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He really helps you out," said fellow South Walton Fireman, Patrick Armitage.
Armitage said they will do anything they can to help ease the burden on Danny's family during this time. It's just what brothers do.
"Response has been overwhelming and humbling, really," said Armitage.
With each passing car, the boots filled up and the cash came in.
Saturday, the total was $1331 collected in just three hours.
