The Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Hidden Pines Drive in Panama City on June 5, 2012 in reference to a burglary. The victim told deputies that sometime through the night someone had entered his vehicle and taken two firearms: a 22 revolver and a 9mm pistol.
On the same day, deputies also responded to a home on Cliftonia Circle in Panama Circle in reference to the report of a burglary. The victim told deputies that her vehicle had been burglarized and her purse containing ID and credit cards was taken.
On June 8, 2012, deputies responded to a home on Laird Circle, Panama City Beach, in reference to another vehicle burglary in which a wallet was taken which contained credit cards.
As these cases were investigated in was learned that addition vehicle burglaries had occurred in the areas around these homes. Video from one home was recovered which revealed a black male trying to get into a parked car. Also on the security video a Honda car was seen driving down the street just before the image of the black male appeared on the video. Investigators were able to identify the man as Lewis Henry.
Investigators also learned that a GPS system had been located in a pawn shop that had been taken in a previous vehicle burglary. When investigators contacted the man who pawned the GPS, he stated he had bought it from Robert Lee Grogan and Lewis Henry.
Investigators contacted both men and obtained statements. Investigators believe that Henry and Grogan burglarized numerous vehicles on three different nights. They also believe that Grogan had one of the missing firearms with him during the burglaries. During a consensual search of Grogan's residence, a stolen GPS was recovered.
Robert Lee Grogan, DOB 7/24/83, of 1420 Balboa Avenue, was arrested and charged with Armed Burglary and five counts of Burglary of a Conveyance. Lewis Ray Henry, DOB 7/31/80, of 1420 Balboa Avenue, was arrested and charged with six counts of Burglary of a Conveyance and Principal to Burglary.
