It wasn't usual for Bailey Pitts to find a litter of kittens in her backyard. But what followed was something she and her sister had never seen before.
"Allie the beagle decided to jump in the boat and start mothering the kittens," says Taylor Pitts. "We didn't think she could produce milk to feed them but she started to and they can eat."
For the past five days Allie, the beagle, hasn't left these kittens side for more than 10 minutes. Perhaps this is proof that in the ancient "tail" of dog chasing cat...puppy love seems to conquer all.
However, Doctor Albert Bias says at Agape Animal Center says this bond between cat and dog isn't really so far-fetched. "Theres even been stories about a goat nursing a baby horse, or a little foe, but the bizzare story I've ever heard was a leopard mothering a baby bamboon," says Bias.
