
The Panama City Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 1342 M.L.K. Blvd, Shady Haven Hotel.
Officers responded to the location on July 10, 2012, at approximately 1:48 a.m. The victim, 41 years of age, was in a room when two persons personally known to him entered the room armed with handguns and demanded money. The victim told officers and detectives he struggled with one of the men over the gun however relinquished the money after he was threatened by the other male. During the robbery both men struck the victim with the handguns before they fled.
The victim told detectives the men are known by their street names of "Dro", Khiry M. Ross, 22 years of age and "Boon or Boonie", Jerry J. Lewis II, 18 years of age. After the victim positively identified the suspects, arrest warrants for Armed Home Invasion Robbery were obtained.
Detectives are currently looking for both suspects who are believed to be in the Glenwood or Cedar Grove area and are possibly still armed. Detectives believe this act was not random as the victim and the suspects were together throughout the evening prior to this incident and knew the victim had the money in his hotel room. Ross has other outstanding warrants for his arrest involving violation of probation, absconding from felony probation for other weapon charges.
