
On July 7, 2012 two female victims contacted the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in reference to a sexual battery complaint. The victims stated the following incident.
Justin Jay Adkins contacted one of the victims he was aquatinted with and told her he had some arrowheads he needed transported to a buyer in Dothan, Alabama. He told her she would be paid by the buyer when she delivered the arrowheads.
The victim and another female friend met Adkins at a location on Hwy 162 in north central Jackson County. He told them he did not have the arrowheads at that location and entered their vehicle. He directed them to a location where he said the arrowheads were located.
Adkins accompanied the females to an isolated field and touched them in an inappropriate manner. Adkins stated he would take them back to the location they first met, but instead he drove them to another isolated field. At this location he displayed and threatened them with a knife to submit to inappropriate sexual activity. Adkins then had unlawful physical contact with one of the female victims. The victims stated they finally convinced Adkins to release them.
On July 10, 2012 approximately 3:00 p.m. Adkins was taken into custody at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Adkins is charged with Sexual Battery, Attempted Sexual Battery, and two counts of Kidnapping. Adkins was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
