The Bay County Sheriff's Office is searching for at least three men wanted in the burglary of a convenience store off of 15th Street and East Avenue. Now, with store surveillance footage, the entire crime is caught on tape.
According to the Sheriff's Office, it appears that the suspects tampered with an electrical box outside, hoping to dismantle an alarm system, but it was a motion detector inside the store that sounded for help.
The incident happened around 3:30 in the morning on June 29th.
"What we found, when we were able to review the security video of this incident, was that these three black male approached the store. It looks like they go around the back of the store. They they come back around. One of them has a fire arm and shoots out the glass door," says Ruth Corley, a spoke person for the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
Then the one suspect runs to the bushes and waits about 4 minutes to see if a silent alarm sounds.
"When they didn't hear anything, see any law enforcement respond, they enter the store. When they tripped a motion alarm," says Corley
It appeared that nothing was taken at this point.
The Sheriff's Office says it is working some leads, and it may be related to other burglaries in the area
"It could be. At this time it appears that it might be. These things don't usually happen in an isolated random manner," says Corley.
