Circuit Judge Dedee Costello sentenced Wallace Stegeman on Monday to 12 years in prison for molesting a minor.
Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Hawkins had shown at trial in June that Stegeman, 54, of 3026 Selma Ave., molested a girl orally and digitally twice between July 1 and Dec. 5, 2011. The girl turned 16 during that timeframe.
Jurors convicted Stegeman of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Costello sentenced Stegeman to 12 years in the Department of Corrections followed by three years of probation and designated him a sexual offender.
