The Franklin County Dixie Youth Debs softball team won the State Title over this past weekend.
The 12 player team went undefeated to win the State Title.
With the win Franklin County earned a spot in this years Dixie Debs World Series that will be held in Powhatan, Virginia the first week in August.
This is the first time ever that this age group, which is 16-18 years old from Franklin County will be going to the World Series.
Now, the Franklin County commission has agreed to provide $5,000.00 to help send the Franklin County Dixie Youth Debs softball team to Virginia.
The $5,000.00 contribution is a big help, but only covers about one third of what will be needed, so the girls will be doing a bunch of fund raising over the next couple of weeks.
