UPDATE: Boil Water Notice Rescinded in Sandy Creek

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: The City of Callaway has rescinded the boil water notice issued for the Sandy Creek area on July 23.

Boiling of water for cooking or drinking is no longer required.

All questions should be directed to the City of Callaway Public Works at 871-1033.

The City of Callaway will be repairing a broken water main on the Sandy Creek Air Park side only. The Callaway water system will be shut off for four hours between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. today.

Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be brought to a rolling boil of one minute.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until bacteriological surveys determine that the water is safe to drink. An announcement will be made to rescind the boil water notice.
