Students Urged to Register for Bay District Schools

Posted: Updated:

For students, kindergarten through grade 12, who will enter a Bay District school for the first time, parents are encouraged to go the student's zoned school and register before school starts on August 20, 2012. This includes students who are starting kindergarten, have recently moved to the area or for other reasons have never attended a public school in Bay County.

Parents who are unsure of a student's school zone can go to the district web site at www.bay.k12.fl.us and click on the School Zones icon. Zone questions may also be answered by calling the School Choice & Zoning Office at 767-4356.

School offices are open Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August 9, 2012. Beginning August 13, all offices return to a regular five-day schedule ~ Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Registering for School

A child must be five years-old by September 1st of the current year to begin kindergarten.

  • Proof of a medical examination (Form DH 3040) within 1 year prior to enrolling in school if entering a Florida school for the first time (If the medical exam form (Form DH 3040) is not provided at the time of registration, the student is allowed 30 days to show documentation of a medical exam.)

For more information about registering, please contact the Student Services Office at 767-4310.
