
"I plan on rushing out and getting as much as i can over the weekend," says Heather Campbell. She looks forward to these tax free days each year and plans her shopping around them. Some shoppers out and about today were surprised to learn of the holiday. Some didn't think it made a difference and would rather avoid the crowds.
Johnny Giddens is the Assistant Manager at Target and says they're prepared for the crowds. "It gets pretty busy, " he says. "People come in and try to save as much money as possible and this is a great opportunity for them."
Over the next three days, clothing items costing 75 dollars or less will be the amount you see right on the price tag. Most school supplies will be tax free...but they are only tax exempt if they cost $15 or less.
There's a long detailed list of what is classified as a school supply or article of clothing on the Florida Department of Revenue's website. The Better Business Bureau of Northwest Florida suggest in order to make the best of these days...plan ahead and shop carefully. The tax free holiday and promotions may not always be the bargains they appear to be. The tax free holiday lasts through Sunday.
