Former Maid Charged with Multiple Jewelry Thefts

Posted: Updated:

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office has arrested a former maid in connection with numerous jewelry thefts. Investigators say 20-year old Amanda Lynn Salazar admitted the amount of customers she stole from was so great that she wasn't exactly sure what she stole or where she stole it, but she did provide a list of names of clients whom she believed were victims.

Salazar is charged with multiple counts of grand theft and providing false information to a pawnbroker. Items taken include wedding band sets, gold necklaces, pearls, and a ring given to a woman by her now deceased husband for their 35th wedding anniversary.

Investigators say Salazar received approximately $13,000 in return for the pawned items.
