A neighborhood watch group is making plans to stay safe if a disaster strikes Panama City. Residents of the Glenwood Community spent the Saturday afternoon, learning how to prepare for emergencies such as a hurricane, or other event. Bay County's Emergency Services Training Coordinator led the workshop, and shared tips on what to do before a worst case scenario. She says the key is to be proactive, and not let a storm catch you by surprise. Citizens with special needs, the elderly and disabled, for example, are encouraged to make the county aware of their situation before an emergency occurs. Call 248-6040 to add your name to the special needs list.
