The Springfield Police responded to six daytime residential burglaries. Police found in each case that either the front or rear door was kicked in.
Once inside, the burglars stole items from jewelry to computers to game devices.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that an item of jewelry from one of the victims had been sold at Coin & Bullion Reserves on E. 15th Street.
Dondrick Demetrius Graddy, 22, was located, interviewed and arrested on one count of dealing in stolen property. During a post-Miranda interview, Graddy made admissions and gave identifying information on his co-defendants.
A juvenile pick-up order was issued for Michael Lavern Reed, 16, of Chattahoochee on a charge of dealing in stolen property. He was arrested by authorities in the 2nd Circuit and was transferred to Bay County. During a post-Miranda interview, he made admissions and gave identifying information on his co-defendants.
Edward Douglas Johnson, 15, of Panama City, was interviewed and post-Miranda he too gave admissions and gave identifying information on his co-defendants.
Graddy has now been charged with six counts of burglary, five counts of grand theft and the original charge of dealing in stolen property.
Reed has been charged with six counts of burglary, five counts of grand theft and the original charge of dealing in stolen property. He has been turned over to the Division of Juvenile Justice Detention Center.
Johnson has been charged with one count of burglary, one count of grand theft and two counts of principal to burglary. He has been turned over to the Division of Juvenile Justice Detention Center.
Only a small amount of property stolen in these burglaries has been recovered. Anyone who has been given or sold ANY property belong to any of these individuals in the last month is encouraged to make contact with Assistant Chief Barry Roberts at the Springfield Police Department to determine if it might be stolen.
