The sewage discharge notice posted on August 14, 2012 advising against swimming in Callaway Bayou between the 7500 block of Chipewa Street and the Star Avenue Bridge due to the discharge of untreated sewage into a stream which flows into Callaway Bayou has been rescinded.

===

A manhole overflowed on the 7400 block of Chipewa Street in Callaway causing a discharge of untreated sewage into a stream which flows into Callaway Bayou.

Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.

The Bay County Health Department advises against swimming in these waters between the 7500 block of Chipewa Street and the Star Avenue bridge until further notice.

For more information, you may contact the Bay County Health Department at (850) 872-4660 ext. 1268.

In addition, the Health Department has rescinded the advisories for Bid-A-Wee Beach (site #4), Beckrich Rd (site #5) and Rick Seltzer Park (site #6) that were issued on August 8th. There are no advisories in effect.
