A Bay County Judge sentences a man to 15 years in prison, about a year after he beat up a Parker teen.
21-year-old James Tristan Gay was convicted in April for hitting 16-year-old Jacob Hendershot in the face. Hendershot was found dead in a wooded area a year ago near the Dupont Bridge.
Gay fled the scene before two other men killed the boy and hid his body in an enclosed structure. Gay was sentenced this morning by Judge James Fensom. 26-year-old Joel Millsap and 18-year-old William Chase entered a plea to second-degree murder.
Millsap will spend 25 years in prison, while Chase will be sentenced later this month.
