After School Care Programs Have Openings

The Bay District Schools Bay After School Enrichment (BASE) Program has openings for the 2012-2013 school year. It provides after school care for students designed to enrich the lives of participants educationally, socially, culturally, emotionally, and physically in a safe and familiar setting.  Enrichment activities include homework assistance, music, games, sports, reading, and arts and crafts.

BASE is offered at 16 elementary school sites: Breakfast Point Academy, Hutchison Beach, Callaway, Cherry Street, Deer Point, Hiland Park, Lynn Haven, Northside, Oakland Terrace, Parker, Patronis, Southport, Springfield, Tommy Smith, Tyndall and Waller Elementary Schools. Students from the following elementary schools are bussed to other sites: Oscar Patterson and Cedar Grove students go to Springfield Elementary School; Lucille Moore to Oakland Terrace; and Bozeman to Southport. 

Children in grades Pre-K 4 thru 5th grade are eligible to attend.  BASE  is open on regular school days, early-release days, teacher in-service days, most holidays and school vacation days.  It is open until 6:00 p.m.

BASE is also open to students in the summer.  Full day program hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The registration fee is $20 per child and the weekly fee ranges from $35-$45 based on income.   For more information visit our website under the Departments tab at or call the main Bay BASE office at 767-4066.
