A German woman accused of killing her grandson will spend more than 20 years in prison.
According to WTXL, 73-year-old Marianne Bordt went before a Franklin County judge and gave a plea agreement that spared the grandmother from a potential death sentence.
Circuit Judge Angela Dempsey granted the reduction in charges and sentenced Bordt to 21 1/2 years in prison.
Bordt was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse after she allegedly drowned her 5-year-old grandson in a bathtub of a beach house on St. George Island in January 2010.
