UPDATE: The Bay County Sheriff's Office today released the identity of the woman found floating in a motel pool on Panama City Beach.

Katherine Bottoms, age 51, was found in the shallow end of the pool at the Catalina Court Motel at 11988 Front Beach Road at about 3 pm yesterday, September 24, 2012. Bottoms is from Bay County and was living at the motel.

Bottoms was last seen alive lying on a float in the pool. This was about an hour before her body was found. BCSO Investigators believe Bottoms, who suffered from several serious medical conditions, slipped incapacitated off the float into the pool as a result of her health problems and drowned.

The body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner for autopsy.

The Bay County Sheriffs Office is also investigating the death of a woman found in a motel swimming pool.

Around 3:00 Monday afternoon, deputies arrived on the scene at Catalina Court Motel off Front Beach Road. The body of a 51 year old female was found floating in the shallow end of the motel swimming pool.

The investigation is still ongoing but no foul play is suspected at this time.
