Bay County, Fla. -

An onslaught of Upper Respiratory Infections is now leading to a complication of the sinuses.  Dr. Timothy Nichols from Emerald Coast Urgent Care says Sinusitis is going around.

Dr. Nichols says it's an infection of the sinus cavities that can cause fever, nasal congestion and drainage, facial pain or pressure, headache, cough, pain in the upper teeth, and a reduced sense of smell or taste.

To treat sinusitis, a doctor may prescribe antibiotics, decongestants, antihistamines, medicines to treat the fever and pain, nasal spray medications and possibly steroid medications.

If you have any symptoms of Sinusitis, see your doctor to determine the appropriate treatment.
