As a way of thanking our veterans, one not-profit organization offered free medical care to these military men and women. PanCare of Florida provided both dental and medical services throughout the day Thursday.
Regardless of income status, any veteran was invited. All they had to do was present proof of their service in the military.
PanCare of Florida, which operates federally qualified health centers, opened the doors at it's two Panama City locations early Thursday morning. Veterans had the opportunity to receive free healthcare including ear and eye exams, blood pressure checks and blood tests. For dental, the veterans received x-rays, extractions, fillings and cleanings. Some of the services were worth more than 400 dollars.
Veterans who participated say they really appreciate the support. "This is great. When I found out about this, it made me so happy, and I appreciate what they do for not just the veteran, but everybody else," says Frank A. Hill Jr.
PanCare officials say about 100 veterans participated in the event.
