Come one, come all, it's time for the fair. Each year the Central Panhandle fairgrounds open its doors to carnies and rides for all to enjoy.
The doors opened for the first time just before 6 on Monday. Lines formed outside the gates and it was the anticipation that couldn't keep people away.
Rain or shine, they were coming to the fair. With over 40 rides, the fair has something for every one. But if rides aren't your kind of thing, you know there's great food of course.
Suzie Thompson says the candy apples are her favorite; she brought her grandkids to the fair after coming for more than 50 years.
Thompson says the fair is an integral part of the community and something she looks forward to every year. "It's something we've done since we were little kids. Our parents brought us, their parents brought them. I mean this is just something we've always done." Thompson says.
