"I'm here today to arrest breast cancer," says Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts as he walks out showcasing his bra at the Marianna Woman's Club on Thursday.
He was the first to walk the runway in Thursday's fashion show. One by one, each man revealed their feminine side and showcased their custom made bra.
Breast cancer survivor Lanet James is a member of the Marianna Woman's Club and founder of the Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium in Jackson County. "I don't know if the men had the best time or the attendees," says James.
Today's affair was just the start to recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness month. Lanet james encourages women to sign up for the symposium where local resources will be available to those impacted by this deadly disease.
The symposium will be held October 18th and is free and open to the public. Doctors will give presentations and discuss resources available to those in Jackson County. James says those interested will need to register first. The first 400 people to call and register will be able to attend. You can register today by calling (850) 718-2884 to make a reservation.
